"Manhattan" cocktail

The official story says that the cocktail "Manhattan" was created in New York, at the Club Manhattan in 1874 when Jenny Jerome, who later became Lady Randolph Churchill, mother of Winston Churchill, hosted a party for a friend of his father, Samuel Tilden, who had just been elected governor of the state.

She gave instructions to the barman to create a special cocktail for the occasion. This cocktail liked so much at the party and the audience began to demand it in other bars to become one of the most famous cocktails in the world.

The ingredients are: whisky, Martini rosso and angostura. Garnish it with a red cherry and orange peel.

To drink this cocktail you should start slowly and enjoy it but never let it warm up.
