Dessert for your Mother's Day

If you want to nice surprise your mother with a sweet for her day, our proposal is the red velvet cake, which you can buy in some bakery or make by yourself, even if you are a good cook or not, since it is possible to buy some cake mix kit for baking.

Flowers to decor your Mother's Day

To celebrate the Mother's Day what we really like are flowers.

Roses are typical for that day and for sure you will find a lot of kinds of flower arrangements specially prepared for that occasion, but following we give you other proposals that we also like a lot.

This is the Amarillys Ninfa, it is very big, so you can put only a stem into a small bottle with a great bow on it. As you see each stem has several flowers:

This is Allium, we like an arrangement with several flowers, as it is showed in the picture below:

And at last but not least, we propose you Peonies pink, in the picture below those are closed but are very nice also open:

Your Mother's Day

The Mother's Day takes place in May in a lot of countries around the World, so this week we will post some proposals for you to celebrate that day with your mother.
So far, below some poems for Mothering Sunday:

M-O-T-H-E-R (by Howard Johnson)

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.

Sonnets are full of love, and this my tome
(excerpt – by Christina Rossetti)

I love you, Mother, I have woven a wreath
Of rhymes wherewith to crown your honoured name:
In you not fourscore years can dim the flame
Of love, whose blessed glow transcends the laws
Of time and change and mortal life and death.

Wicker basket with roses

In early May the first flowers appear and one of my favourites for its symbolism, beauty and incomparable smell is the red rose. Here you are a proposal of an oval wicker basket with six red roses, accompany them with some paniculata and the result is a simple and elegant decoration.

Centrepiece for the International Jazz Day

To decorate the International Jazz Day this year we chose a Zen style centrepiece, since Osaka is the official Jazz host city 2014 designated by UNESCO, given its legendary history as “Japan’s jazz Meca” in the early to mid 1920s.

Chocolate and Jazz

The dessert that Jazz evokes is a brownie, as both were created in United States at a close time.
Jazz originated in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century in New Orleans and the first brownie receipts are from the same time.

Following, an excerpt of why UNESCO created an international Jazz day:
·   Jazz breaks down barriers and creates opportunities for mutual understanding and tolerance;
·   Jazz is a vector of freedom of expression;
·   Jazz is a symbol of unity and peace;
·   Jazz reduces tensions between individuals, groups, and communities;
·   Jazz fosters gender equality;
·   Jazz reinforces the role youth play for social change;
·   Jazz encourages artistic innovation, improvisation, new forms of expression, and inclusion of traditional music forms into new ones;
·   Jazz stimulates intercultural dialogue and empowers young people from marginalized societies.

And of course, following some pictures of our brownie. Enjoy!
