GPS for 4x4 routes

One of the key elements that we should have for a 4x4 route is a good GPS to guide us and show us the passable routes with our vehicle.

Depending on the use that we're going to give it we can mainly choose between a handheld GPS or another more professional GPS.

The handheld GPSs have the advantage of being able to be used for hiking or biking, since those work with battery and most of them are water resistant.
As opposed, their screens are quite small, so to use for driving may be uncomfortable, but are equally useful for occasional use in the vehicle.

In the opposite, the remaining no handheld GPSs offer larger screens, for a more professional use in 4x4 vehicles. In this case it is important that we choose a device which supports maps, and has large storage capacity of routes and way points.

Here you have a couple of recommendations for a handheld GPS and a professional GPS:

If you need a handheld GPS, we recommend you the Garmin Etrex 30, you can buy it on Amazon, and you can install free maps. These are the some of its features:

• worldwide base map;
• Display 2.2 "" 65,000 colours, which can be read with the light of the sun;
• three-axis compass and barometric altimeter;
• Wireless to share way points, routes and geocaches with other similar devices;
• GPS and GLONASS satellites to acquire the position more quickly.

Furthermore, our professional GPS recommendation is the Navigattor Camel 8. Here are some of its features:

Get the best suits your needs and enjoy it!

Electronic shift gear of bicycle

Although it is not new, it seems clear that the future of a bicycle's shift gear passes for a electronic shift gear replacing the traditional mechanical one. For years, in competition, it has been working on testing electronic shifts, however they have not success due to the problems raised, something that the high competition can not afford.

Shifts are performed by pressing a button. No more efforts to shift. This system allows to shift without difficulty in difficult conditions such as when we have cold hands or when we are really tired.

The most notable difference compare with the mechanical version is the smoothness in the shift. By simply pressing a button the chain will pass from the plate even when we apply a lot of force to the pedals. The deflector is automatically set to avoid friction with the string. The rear shift also offers a very smooth working.

With this philosophy, the two options about electronic shifts of today were born: Shimano Di2 (Digital Integrated Intelligence) and Campagnolo EPS (Electronic Power Shift).

Never again the string will turn out and we will hear the clink of a poorly fixed shift.

Ayurveda diet

Maybe, you have heard from this kind of diet as it is chosen by most of the celebrities however I didn´t know it and I found it quite interesting.

The ayurveda diet combines the power of food to our bodies to prevent nutritional imbalances.

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian medicinal practice that encompasses a range of treatments including herbs, diet, meditation, massage and yoga to maintain or get healthy. This practice is based on the belief that health is the result of harmony between mind, body and spirit, that is, on the theory that "we are what we eat".

According to Ayurveda, within each person there are the 5 basic elements of the universe: earth, air, fire, water and space. The combination of these elements creates 3 types of energy or doshas which are called: vata, pitta and kapha. Each person has something of these 3 types and usually one of them is dominant:

  • Khapa: Stable person of strong character with a tendency to gain weight;
  • Pitta: Strong-willed perfectionist with a big appetite;
  • Vata: Person of light, thin, sensitive, sociable and creative appearance.
Once the Ayurveda professional classifies the patient, he helps you recognize the imbalance and guide you through patterns of supply and use of some herbs and massage synchronized to recover the lost balance.

Ayurveda specialist prepares food plan based on the patient Dosha. In patients Khapa prepares them a plan based on legumes and vegetables; in the case of Pitta soft drinks, sweets and increasing amounts predominate; and finally, in people with Vata energy, encouraged the uso of hot foods and teas.

Prepared Spanish Omelette

If you do not have enough time or you are not gifted in cooking and you fancy a fantastic omelette freshly cooked, you just need to be hungry and someone who lend you a hand, or alternatively, you can just get hungry and a little pot of prepared Spanish Omelette.

We have found it in the supermarket and we think that it is a great idea!

Most of these prepared mixtures contain only potato, onion and oil, so they are suitable for celiacs (those are gluten free) and for those who are allergic to eggs, because you can use egg substitutes.

It is very easy to do: pour the content into a pan and heat it, then mix the content with beaten eggs and salt in a separate bowl, and finally fry the mixture turn and turn a few minutes in a pan with very little oil.

Enjoy it!

Fixie bikes

The "fixie" or fixed-gear bikes are nothing new, but now these bikes are all the rage in fluorescent tones, combining a retro style with bright colors.

Such bikes are often a single gear and due to those have no freewheel are always moving, so you can not stop pedaling. To brake you must pedal in the opposite direction to the march.

With no gears these bicycles are very light and require less force to move it.

To give you an idea, here you have some pictures of these bikes that we have seen at createbikes.com

Beer Store - Beer Hall in Madrid

A few weeks ago we found a nice store in the Northwest of Madrid, which houses and sells hundreds of beers, from over 100 varieties, in a warm place to the lucky ones who can visit it.

This place, "El Cervecero", charms to those who go, because from the moment you cross the door you feel like you're in one of those places where you feel simply "at ease".

Although it is not a typical bar, there you can taste different beers on tap that the owner acquires and that changes periodically, as if it were small tastings.

They have an online store, but certainly what we recommend you is to visit it and choose your favorite beers, some new and others that they can advise you.

To give you an idea, below some pictures of the store that we have obtained from their website:
